Thick as Thieves (1999) Soundtrack

This is the soundtrack to my first movie, Thick as Thieves. Over the years there have been a few requests for it, and I figured 12 years later, I can offer it up myself since no one is ever going to sell it. Great music by Joey Altruda and Christophe Beck, with audio clips of the movie in-between.

5 Hour Suckapunch Mix, NYFA Party Bubble Lounge Tribeca

Thanks to my oldest friend, David Terry, I have had the pleasure to dj the annual party for the Fellows program at New York Foundation of the Arts for the last 5 years. This year it was in Tribeca at the Bubble Lounge. I djed for 5 hours, and recorded it. Lots of fun, as always.

You can download the entire the mix by clicking on the link below;

Mix Request...

...from my friend Jen. She didn't like the first one I made, thought it wasn't eclectic enough. Here is the redo... Dubstep, Moombahton, Indie, House, Bounce, Tribal, Batucada, Dutch. I'm not making another one for awhile.

19 years I looked for this song...

then I found it... I don't know if it's raw nostalgia, or if it's a really good song. I just like it. I had it on a home made cassette tape I made in around '93. My search began when my friend Adrian Younge played the original sample from Lonnie Liston Smith, "We Can Dream," at a party at his wife's salon. After some Google sleuthing I found it in around 2 hours.

Anyway, I'm happy I found it.

Underground Paris 2011 vs 1992 New Jersey

Okay. If I had to come with my favorite genre of music of all time, it would be early nineties New Jersey house. There is a guy in Paris, who has collected every New Jersey house record, and has been making incredible mixes and not making tracklists. I love him and hate him for that.

Black Dynamite Remix MegaPost

One of the fun things about making Black Dynamite was how many songs and remixes came out of it. Lots of different genres, sampling both soundtracks, using vocal snippets from the entire movie.

Here is a sampling of 8 remixes.

The first one is my time stretch of my own re-edit of the Sir Charles Hughes - Yo Kiss Sho Nuff Dynomite. It's 23 minutes long, slowed down 800%. You have to be in a special mood for this. I personally have not listened to the entire thing, so I have never been in that special mood.
